Erin E. Biro, MD

 

Dr. Erin Biro, a native of New York, has joined the nationally ranked Department of Neurosurgery at Ochsner Health System. She is the first female adult neurosurgery attending within Ochsner as well as the New Orleans area. She earned her medical degree from The State University of New York Upstate Medical University. She completed her neurosurgical residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, NY
Dr. Biro’s surgical expertise includes: minimally invasive techniques for spinal decompression and fusion, microsurgical, minimal access, and endoscopic techniques for cranial and skull base pathologies, and deep brain stimulation for movement disorders.

 

Clinical Interests
Dr. Biro's area of clinical interest includes: adult cervical and lumbar degenerative spinal disease (herniated discs, spinal stenosis, spinal compression fractures), spinal tumors (primary and metastatic), adult brain tumors (primary and metastatic), pituitary disease (tumors, cysts), head injuries (hematomas, fractures), and movement disorders (Parkinson's Disease).
